Dr. Richard Baker Appointed to Illinois Emergency Medical Services for Children Advisory Board
Lebanon, IL (07/07/2022) — Dr. Richard "Rick" Baker, assistant professor of nursing at McKendree University, was recently appointed to a three-year commitment as a committee member of the Illinois Emergency Medical Services for Children Advisory Board. He was officially appointed at the end of May after being recommended by the Illinois Critical Access Hospital Network (ICAHN).
As a committee member, Dr. Baker will participate with other healthcare providers across the state of Illinois in discussing current standards of care. The advisory board reviews current guidelines for pediatric emergency care within the state and determines if the treatment guidelines need to be updated. If updates appear necessary, the committee will present current evidence for updating and improving the way emergency care is delivered to pediatric patients in Illinois.
