Dr. Nichole DeWall Discusses Beowulf with Local High School Students
Lebanon, IL (10/10/2024) — Dr. Nichole DeWall, professor of English, visited Edwardsville High School on Friday, Sept. 13 to give a lecture to Beth Warner's British Literature class. DeWall shared her passion for the Old English language and Beowulf during the lecture.
DeWall got to speak with Warner about her love of Beowulf during an open house night at the high school that she attended for her son. It was then that she was invited by Warner to speak to her Honors British Literature class.
While speaking to Warner's class, DeWall found that the young high school students were curious and engaged in the lecture despite it being 7:15 a.m.
"I am always looking for reasons to connect with bright students who may be interested in attending McKendree," DeWall said. "I am always up for discussing poetry!"
