Dr. Angie LaMora Receives Publishing Contract with Cognella for Innovative Workbook

Lebanon, IL (01/31/2024) — Dr. Angie LaMora, an associate professor of biology at McKendree University, recently received a publishing contract with Cognella Publishing for her book, Thinking Your Way through A&P. The book showcases Dr. LaMora's critical thinking riddles with an instructor guide containing the learning objectives and information scaffolding needed to help students solve each question.

The goal of the book is to help students learn by manipulating and applying information, and to help instructors teach by leading students through the bits of information that must be understood to answer the questions.

The Osage Beach, Mo., native was also this year's recipient of the 2023 Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award for her outstanding contribution to the teaching profession and to her students. She has been serving at McKendree since 2014 and has also been the chairperson of the Division of Science and Mathematics since 2020.

The book is slated to be published by 2025.
